With the rapid development of economy, people put forward higher requirements for the choice and application of control cables. How to choose and use control cables? According to the different sheath materials of control cables, control cables can be classified as: PVC control cables, natural-styrene-butadiene rubber insulation control cables, polyethylene insulation control cables, cross-linked polyethylene insulation and ethylene-propylene rubber insulation control cables. PVC insulated control cables, polyethylene insulated and cross-linked polyethylene control cables when the conventional control cables, but also the market widely used products. These control cables differ in their performance and usage from different angles.

First of all, the use of temperature is different: EPDM rubber insulated cable its conductor maximum use temperature is 90 degrees Celsius, PVC insulated cable and polyethylene insulated cable conductor maximum use temperature is 70 degrees Celsius, and cross-linked polyethylene insulated cable its maximum use temperature is 90 degrees Celsius. For the control cable, the different usage temperature will affect the current carrying capacity of the cable. From a safety point of view, it is better to use XLPE and ethylene propylene insulated cables.

From the environmental point of view, EPDM insulated and XLPE insulated cables are halogen-free, while PVC insulated cables contain halogen, so when a fire burns, the smoke generated by cables containing halogen materials is toxic. Therefore, for some crowded occasions, such as stations, shopping malls, the best use of low smoke halogen-free control cable.

From a price point of view, the least expensive one is PVC insulated cable.
